Conference Corner IVANS Xchange
The IVANS Xchange Conference, held March 2 in Tampa, Florida, was a success. More than 150 industry colleagues came together to discuss issues and opportunities within the insurance distribution system. Among the attendees was Mark Miller, Chief Operating Officer of SIS, who also participated in a vendor panel discussion.
Sessions at the conference focused on adoption of Real Time, claims and alerts downloads and securing your transactions. For the first time in 2007, IVANS successfully teamed up with the Agents Council for Technology (ACT) and the ACORD Users Group Information Exchange (AUGIE) to combine back-to-back meetings.
Other highlights from the conference included presentations on: Information Security: Addressing Todays Threats & Vulnerabilities Wireless Innovation in the Insurance Industry Automating Workers Compensation Transactions Connecting Agents with High-Speed on a Common Network Data Privacy
High TECC Conference
SIS COO Mark Miller attended the High TECC Conference in Vail, Colorado, from July 15-17. Mark participated in an industry panel consisting of agency management system vendors, document management system vendors and comparative rating vendors. They discussed the current hurdles in the industry and how the different products and companies are addressing them.
Much of the conference focused on generational marketing and how the agency market can tap into this. Technology, staffing and online marketing also were hot topics.
SIS Brings Home Three More ACORD Awards
Mark Miller, Brad Ristas, Mohi Syed-Masood and Nolan Davis attended the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum Identify, Innovate, Inspire in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, from May 20-22, 2007. The SIS WebLink product earned the Web Services Award; the SIS Print Service product earned the Outsourcer Award and SIS received the Early Forms Adopter Award for the continued early adoption of ACORD Forms standards. This brings the total number of ACORD awards SIS has received throughout the years to 19.
This was SIS first Web Services Award, in recognition of the WebLink implementation with Frankenmuth Financial Group. As with any Web service, WebLink can be utilized anywhere an Internet connection is available. The SIS WebLink effort coincides with the national ACT (Agents Council for Technology) initiative promoting Real Time transactional processing in the insurance industry. (For more information on this, visit www.getrealtime.org.)
This was the fifth consecutive year that the SIS Print Service earned the Outsourcer Award. The Print Service product floods ACORD XML Version 1.x data to ACORD forms as PDF streams/documents. Company Unique XML data and forms are also supported by the Print Service. This product may be installed as a COM Object or Web Service, which can be hosted by SIS or the carrier.
SIS continues to work diligently to adopt ACORD standards and stay in the forefront of technology, and was duly honored for the fourth consecutive year with the ACORD Early Forms Adopter award. This was awarded to SIS for the continued early adoption of ACORD forms. SIS recognizes that the timely implementation of ACORD forms is critical to insurance agents so they can meet current state regulatory demands.
Plans are already underway to participate in this conference again in 2008 where SIS strives to continue the tradition of excellence in being honored with additional ACORD awards.
