NASPA News Ramping Up Real Time Real Time is the ability to click on a button from a client file in Partner or in a comparative rating system for immediate online access to carrier information about that client. The transaction may be a quote, billing inquiry, claim inquiry/loss run, policy view, endorsement or a request for information. This approach provides a single workflow for servicing and quoting.
During the February AUGIE/ACT meeting, the Real Time Implementation Campaign kicked off. The goals of the campaign are to increase the use of Real Time capabilities on both a national and regional level as well as to increase the usage of Real Time in all agencies.
During the May AUGIE/ACT meeting the website, www.getrealtime.org, was introduced. Please visit this site for information on:
1. Real Time Implementation Guide 2. Real Time links to Vendors and Carriers 3. News and events 4. And much more
Ron Binning and John Heinsz represented NASPA at both meetings. A Real Time Implementation Guide was provided during the meeting. If you would like to receive a copy, please contact Ron at ron@binningdickens.com.
SIS provides the WebLink/UpLink feature, which is a Real Time connection to carrier Web sites, and currently 13 carriers are certified for that functionality. SIS is actively certifying additional carriers for WebLink/UpLink and in a future release of Partner XE, SIS will also be incorporating Transformation Station. Transformation Station will provide yet another method of Real Time connection and expand the list of carriers capable of Real Time through the XE system.
Mastering the Web
The Internet has become a prime source of information and many consumers (especially those under the age of 40) use the Web to research insurance agents. The use of Web advertising and search positioning by agencies was another key topic at the February AUGIE/ACT meeting.
A recommendation was made that ACT (Agents Council for Technology) should work as a referral conduit. Most agencies do not have the time or expertise to find a reliable vendor. Possibly combining “Trusted Choice” membership with Web site assistance would improve “branding” and would improve both the agency’s Web site and Trusted Choice search engine placement.
A significant number of SIS users do not have Web sites. NASPA is looking into ways to help Partner agents find a cost-efficient, simple method for setting up Web sites. In addition, NASPA is providing a newsletter about Web sites and functionality. If this is something that interests you, please contact Ron at ron@binningdickens.com.
ACT has formed a Work Group to study this subject and we will keep you updated on their progress. |
